Unfurl

Unfurl was a black and white projection made to sit behind the wearable art parade at Art Show Pakenham 2021. The linework gives the colourful garments a hypnotic, contrasting backdrop.

It reacts to the movement of the bodies in front of it through an Intel RealSense depth camera. The theme was Equivocal, so the work never quite settles: it stays abstract, then gives you a glimpse of a familiar silhouette, then lets it go.

It went down well, and made the local paper.
