Yalinguth
An ethereal projection promo for a geo-located audio journey.
Yalinguth is an immersive audio experience. Geo-located stories, songs and poems take you through time along Gertrude Street in Ngár-go (Fitzroy), a place of deep significance to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights movement. The Elders who guide the journey say we need to go back to go forwards.
As part of the OrCha Collective, we conceived and made its projection promo for the Gertrude St Projection Festival. Abstract animation was driven by flow maps built from a local artist’s artwork, with footage of Elders woven through so passers-by felt drawn in.
It was made during Melbourne’s sixth lockdown, which made it one of the harder projects to pull off.
